Twitter is a girl's best friend

Are you a Facebook family show-off or a Twitter news narcissist? Do you Instagram your dinner? Snapchat your sex life? Has Linked In ever got anyone a job, ever? What's the point of Ask.fm?

Social media is now THE media, not only breaking stories but making stories, maintaining friendships and work associations alike. Women, in particular, have embraced it: mothers seeking grown-up interaction after the kids are in bed, professionals raising their profile without going for a works drink. But social media lets other people in, too, and not all of those are pro-female...

Twitter is a Girl's Best Friend, a panel discussion organised by Bug at the House of St Barnabas, looks at social media's different tribes and behaviours with Suzanne Moore (Guardian columnist who left Twitter because of sexist attacks), Philippa Perry (psychotherapist. and regular social media-user) and Poppy Dinsey (founder of online fashion business What I Wore Today). Miranda Sawyer hosts as we unpick the dark and light sides of social media and discuss where it's headed in the future.
