Whats Wrong with Groovin

The King of Funk is back at the seaside with another stellar line up. Craig Charles off the telly has been making huge waves in the Funk and Soul seen ever since 10 years before he took the helm of 6 music’s Funk and Soul Show on Saturday night. His listeners and have grown in number exponentially and so has his thirst for playing out at his own parties. It’s the best party in town and to prove it, he has brought with him an overwhelming array of musical talent in the shape of

The Apples (live):
The Apples have been creating genre melting, infectious grooves
for nearly a decade. Blending a composition of decks, horns, double bass, drums and electronic effects, The Apples create a big band vibe mixed with their Middle Eastern influences, to create a signature sound that pushes the boundaries of modern funk. Don’t miss this, they are spectacularly good!

Dj Format:
No introduction should be needed but just in case; he is the Godfather of the UK Hip Hop Community. Since his debut album “Music For The Mature B-Boy” that won critical acclaim, he has gone from strength to strength with collaborations with all star talent such as Jurassic 5 among others as well as various well received Dj Mixes for the Fabric Live series, his last album “Statement of Intent” is a winner and guess what - He’s from Brighton

Soul Casserole:
The Soul Casserole DJs Evil Broke Elvis, Dusty Du and Alkie Tuner have a bit of a reputation for making DJing look like it's one big lark, it's difficult to tell who is enjoying the night more, the crowd or the DJs. One thing's for sure all three DJs are passionate about the music they play. A spicy melange of Stax, Trojan, Motown, Blue Note, Zodiac, Chess and Loma Records. They also have a late night tendency to throw a blend of randomness into the pot; from Reggae to Ragga and Blues to Hip hop. Expect an unpretentious night of full speed funky beats!"

Whats Wrong with Groovin:
A lovely pair of DJs between them, Beatwell and Ed Meme have featured alongside some of the most respected names in the business of the beats, including Marva Whitney, Fred Wesley, Breakestra, Maxi Jazz, The Nextmen, Hexstatic, Part Time Heroes, Lack of Afro, Osaka Monaurail, The B Boys and more. playing the best in heavy funk, deep soul, old school hip hop, afrobeat, latin, breaks, broken beats and anything else driven by a pounding drumline. A tribute to the beats.
