The Listening Room #2
Second edition of the brand new series of monthly Sunday gigs at the Old Fire Station featuring bands from near and far...
Grudle Bay is pop music made by rock musicians: intricate and intelligent, mellow and mellifluous, yet with four unmistakably human hearts beating at its core. With their recently released ‘Colder’ EP, Grudle Bay have become the perfect sum of the parts, fine-tuned yet organic and comfortable in their skins.
Tamara has produced new material in recent years that takes its formulaic cues from jazz and the blues. She populates her songs with characters and observations that display wit and wisdom beyond her years.
Sometimes part Amanda Palmer, part Anita O’Day other times she is part Tom Waits, part Jeff Buckley. And you are invited to try and keep up. Tamara will be joined by Tom Sharp of Smilex fame.
Chris Ryder spend most of his musical career gigging around the UK, singing and playing guitar in heavy/alternative bands. “Although I had never really played solo before, I found it liberating. It opened up a completely new side of writing which I was more content with than I’d ever been”. Chris has recently released an EP, ‘Black and Blue’.
