Suffolk Soul Singers is a 30 strong community choir project in Ipswich for men and women, specialising in rich four-part harmonies of Soul and Gospel music.

Supported by a professional band, this live performance by Suffolk Soul Singers will be an upbeat music experiences full of energy and excitement. This gig is guaranteed to get toes tapping! With a core repertoire taken from classic soul and gospel roots, this “Christmas special” programme will include more contemporary artists, modern gospel music, soul, reggae and pop.

Suffolk Soul Singers defies convention by being a truly inclusive and accessible community choir. Members are not expected to read music, or to audition to gain a place. All the harmonies are learnt by singing each song together, phrase by phrase. Membership of Suffolk Soul Singers is based entirely on passion for the music and a commitment to giving the best effort each week in rehearsal and at gigs, under the leadership of our fantastic Musical Director, Andi Hopgood.

Andi is a Suffolk-based professional vocalist, specialising in jazz and soul music. A classical musician too and a graduate of The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Andi creates bespoke musical arrangements just for Suffolk Soul Singers, giving this choir a unique sound and presenting a fresh perspective on soul and gospel classics.
