Ultrasound have been back together again for some time now and last year produced a highly acclaimed follow up to their 1999 indie masterpiece “Everything Picture” with “Play For Today”, influenced as it was by the works of Dennis Potter, marrying their trademark epic songs with a sense of reality, modern life and kitchen sink dramas.
They spent the latter half of the year touring to support the album, including a stint in Northern Europe supporting the Darkness, finishing the rest of their British tour playing at the Truck festival in Oxford.
Since then their original drummer Andy Peace left the band to find himself and has been replaced by Bruce Renshaw, so au revoir Andy and Bonjour Bruce!
They are currently working on recording their third album, which will include some finely crafted tunes, along with a song cycle dealing with themes of childhood and nostalgia, titled “Blue Remembered Hills”, after the Dennis Potter film/play.
