The Big Smoke is a live music night held every Thursday at The Castle in the heart of London's creative East End. The Big Smoke showcases London's up-and-coming singer/songwriting talent at an intimate venue in the Brick Lane area. On the last Friday of the month we takeover The Rhythm Factory around the corner for a bigger and more powerful live show featuring local bands and soloists.
For our third installment of the takeover we present the inimitable Sebastian Blake, who kicks off tonight’s show, which is gonna be the funkiest The Big Smoke we’ve ever done! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvADZXGi6o4&utm_content=buffere7ac5&utm_source=buffer&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=Buffer
The Newmarkets are a husband and wife duo that have influences from their native Japan and rock/techno influences from Europe, combined this with sublime voices and ethereal hooks then you have a match made in heaven - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tb8PPI2nwtk
Wildeast describe themselves as “a fresh blend of Turkish melodies, Middle Eastern percussion and the progressive beats of London's musical landscape” where “the Gypsy Clarinet meets Dubstep meets the Sufi flute”… Wow! https://soundcloud.com/wildeast
City Walls are an electronic project formed by musicians Kit Munro, Luke Marzec and Harry Jones. Their music has the continuity and aesthetic of a DJ set with the flexibility and dexterity of a band; bridging the void between live and electronic music. Here they are performing live - http://vimeo.com/75292637
