The very atmosphere is so poised on the edge of absurdity that the slightest thing can break the tension and result in what is best described as uncontrollable schoolboy giggles of the most infantile and sublime kind. Explaining the jokes later is useless and will lead to social embarrassment. But while you're there these cats somehow manage to plug you in to their implausible universe, and your wires are twitching. Even the end-of-pier moments are transcendental.
