THREE BIRD-BRAINED ACTS! ONE GREAT BIG FLOATING ROOM! IT'S THE FLOATING AVIARY!

A unique event, unlike anything you've seen before, The Floating Aviary comes about as the result of a very silly idea. What would happen if a bunch of bands with bird-inspired names were to share a bill*? And what if the resulting gig, for no reason other than the sheer fun of it all, was on a boat?

This is the first ever Floating Aviary, run by popular London promoters Folkroom. Three of the best bird-named acts in England descend upon Tamesis Dock to present a night of music and, inevitably, awful bird puns. Playing the night will be:

RINGLEFINCH! Alright, alright... *technically* they're named after a fictional troll. But Ringlefinch are one of the best live bands playing right now, and we're not about to exclude finches over technicalities. Expect raucous singalongs. Expect dancing. Expect the unexpected, no matter how difficult that might be in practice. Ringlefinch make incredible music seem effortless, and might just be the most fun act in London.

HAWK! Formed around the incredible vocals of lead singer Julie Hawk, there is an irresistable battle at the centre of the band's music. Described as 'a battle for supremacy between light and dark' by Americana UK, Julie's voice is the centrepiece - a chandelier in an elaborate hall of feasts. HAWK's sound is rich and built to be experienced in the live arena. Or, if you will, boat.

HERONS! One of the greatest secrets of the UK music scene, Herons! are responsible for the most underrated debut album of the past twenty years in 2010's 'So Long!'. A rare stripped back performance will see singer Ben Kritikos performing songs from that debut, as well as new tracks from the band's long-awaited follow up, 'Some Things Run Wild'.
