SAGE FRANCIS...relocked and reloaded. After a 4-year hiatus, the indie rap icon is taking his signature style of hip-hop and performance art back on the road to support the June 2014 release of "COPPER GONE" on STRANGE FAMOUS RECORDS.


SAGE FRANCIS(Strange Famous recs, Epitaph, Anticon)The Godfather of Indie Hip-hop- Sage Francis is widely considered one of our generation's greatest lyricists. His gifted wordplay is brought to life with his vivid imagination, use of symbolism, personal confessions, and an amazing ability to simply tell it how it is. Francis won the Scribble Jam emcee battle in 2000. In 2001, the song "Makeshift Patriot," recorded on October 11, 2001, became an Internet hit for its critique of American media during, and immediately following, the September 11 attacks. .With little to no funding, Francis sustained himself by selling his innovative "Sick of" mixtapes, becoming the first rapper to do mixtapes of his live and recorded sessions before going onto solo albums and range of side projects. He is the founder of Strange Famous Records- and has released the work of such artists as Scroopius Pip and B Dolan.

Francis is an amazing live performer with extensive experience playing all over the world for the past two decades performing shows with Atmosphere, Buck 65, Brother Ali, and Eyedea & Abilities.After a 4-year hiatus, the indie rap icon is taking his signature style of hip-hop and performance art back on the road to support the June release of his 6th Studio Album- Copper Gone- his most accomplished work to date.
