Nigerian singer Funmi Olawumi, the leader and founder of the glorious Yoruba Women's Choir, performs two very special intimate shows - her only London shows of 2014.
Across the two nights Funmi premiers songs from her soon to be released CD 'Yoruba Soul', the follow up to the critically acclaimed album 'Funmi Ti De' (Joyful Noise Records). 'Yoruba Soul' brings together all the glorious elements of Nigerian rhythms: Afrobeat, hi-life, juju and fuji into one infectious collection of Naija (Nigerian) rhythms.
Funmi is joined by a nine-piece band, featuring Femi Sofela, bass; Lekan Sobiyi, guitar; Seun Oke, keyboards; Ben Audu, alto saxophone; Wole Aina, percussion, John Bello, drums, Wale Ogungbe, talking drums and Kehinde Talabi, backing vocals.
