World Premiere by David Childs.
Hear the virtuoso euphonium player David Childs, accompanied by Trinity Concert Band, give the world premiere performance of Stephen Roberts’ Euphonium Concerto on September 27th in Reading University Great Hall. Well known through his association with the world’s top brass bands, David has been seeking an opportunity to perform this exciting new work for euphonium and wind band. Trinity Concert Band is honoured to be sharing the stage with such a virtuoso, in the presence of the composer. David will also perform Peter Graham’s tour de force “Brilliante – a Fantasy on Rule Britannia“.
In its programme Trinity will perform Frank Ticheli’s “Blue Shades”, “An American Elegy”, and “Folk Song Suite” by Vaughan Williams, to name but a few. This is a unique opportunity to hear a renowned soloist and the best of wind band music.
