After 4 previous years of sell out double-act shows, Sid now brings his first solo sketch show to the UK comedy circuit.
But it’s NOT a solo show!
Sid has formed a self-help group, where his new array of imaginary friends (including Sir Cliff Richard, CoCo Monkey, and elusive cat burglar Mr Cream ) will work tirelessly for a futile 55minutes, helping Sid overcome his loneliness and slender grip on reality. During which they will perform a song written exclusively with Love Hearts, from the taskforce of Operation:Codename, and dish out jibberish nonsense reggae relationship advice.
Then they all die.
Sid has a vast experience in performing both sketch and character comedy based shows, taking any opportunity to turn a concept on its head for comedic value, and using the formats to incorporate original live songs, concept comedy, and trademark wordplay. A solo sketch show is an oddity on the comedy scene, and Sid has foolishly decided to take it on with a new and original approach.
Through his work in Slap and Giggle, Sid has featured as a regular guest on BBC Radio Manchester, along with being chosen by the BBC to perform as part of the “Comic Relief” Red Nose Day campaign in 2009. He has also performed sell out shows at the Buxton Fringe, Preston Tringe, Manchester Fringe, Brighton Fringe, Harrogate Comedy, Manchester Comedy, and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals.
All this has led to the following selected reviews:
“Brilliant – sharp, creepy and perfect”
-Three Weeks
“Brilliant! The best sketch show I’ve ever seen live. Thoroughly deserving of a much bigger stage. One of those special hidden gems you find in Fringe Festivals!”
-Love Fringe
“Ability to incorporate songs, silly voices and different comedic styles all within the same continuous scene. Very original and very funny”
-Crispy Comedy Cuts
“Very good, inventive jokes and songs raise a genuine laugh”
–Chortle
