10 15 Sergeant Buzfuz
Sgt Buzfuz preview songs from sixth album “Balloons For Thin Linda” due in the autumn. An album of modern stories of London and Sheffield about prostitutes, ATOS and their war on the disabled, ghosts, anorexia, falling in love, knife crime, the London Irish and not knowing what to believe in the media. Sung over a folkbeat web of mandolins, violins, slide guitar, bass and drums.
“It's mental - in a good way! Absolutely hooked on it" (Ian Rankin)
"Universally charming" (NME)
"Excellent stuff" (Marc Riley, BBC 6)

9 30 Emily Capell
Emily Capell celebrates the release of "Who Killed Smiley Culture?", her debut single for Blang. Straight out of Harrow, Emily takes in musical influences as diverse as Georgie Fame and The Clash, writing modern tales of London with a deftness and articulacy which belie her age. Eg, the tender menace of the single's A side and the snotty protest skiffle of B side “Plastic”. A duet with Milk Kan is due for release later this year.
“Amazing” (Bethan Elfyn, BBC Radio Wales)
“Great tune” (Joey Barton,Tweet - she's QPR and he's a fan)
"lyrics that pretty much make half your Clash collection redundant. It's top f***ing banana" (upcoming Unpeeled review)
