DJ ANDREW WEATHERALL. DJ, producer, remixer, singer, artitst, record label owner........ we all know Andrew's beginnings, from his time with Junior Boys Own, and his connection to probably the best psychedelic cross over album - Screamadelica, and his involvement with Sabres of Paradise and Two Lone Swordsmen. His DJ sets and music have soundtracked our lives, and there are far too many remix's to name, but he has sprinkled his magic dust on the Happy Mondays, The Doves, Fuck Buttons, Grinderman, Siouxsie, Spiritualized, Finitribe, Leftfield, New Order, Percy X, and Jagwar Ma, to name a few. More recent, in 2006 he released his debut solo EP "The Bullet Catcher's Apprentice", followed by his debut solo album "A Pox On The Pioneers" in 2009. In 2013, The Asphodells, formed by Andrew Weatherall and collaborator Timothy J. Fairplay from Battant, released the album "Ruled by Passion, Destroyed by Lust" on Andrew's own Rotters Golf Club imprint. Andrew use to run seminal club nigh
ts Sabresonic and Bloodsugar, and more recently, along with Sean Johnston (Hardway Bros) host one of the most talked about underground club nights....A Love From Outer Space. Andrew will be playing a solo DJ set and has a free reign.
THE EMPEROR MACHINE. The Emperor Machine is Andy Meecham, producer, remixer and DJ extraordinaire. Andy was a member of dance music legends Bizarre Inc., dub disco aficionados Chicken Lips and punk funk dark horses Big Two Hundred. The Emperor Machine is Andy's most passionate project that sees his fetishism for analogue synthesizers and radiophonic noise spilling out of his studio and into the world. Andy has remixed everyone from Moby to Daft Punk, Royksopp to Stephen Malkmus. The Emperor Machine rapidly ascended to cult status, with each 12" single (DC Recordings/Southern Fried Records) becoming the focus of collectors and DJs alike, adorned as they are with the iconic graphic art of La Boca. The Emperor Machine has released albums, to underground critical acclaim, such as Aimee Tallulah is Hypnotised, Vertical Tones & Horizontal Noise, and more recently Like A Machine. The Emperor Machine played live for the first time ever in 2008 and have gone from strength to strength.
Andy has put together an awe inspiring live act that blends his distinctive analogue sound with the fervor and psychedelia of live vocals and guitar respectively.
CAUSA. Hebden Bridge local electronic act Causa, is Joe Lucas, DJ, producer and remixer. Releases have been on Tusk Wax, Disco Bloodbath, Glenview Originals and Blind Jacks Journey. Releases coming up on LBL and Steve Birdie in the coming months. Recently Andrew Weatherall was heard playing a few Causa tracks at ALFOS.
