Wendycode

"orchestrations lumineuses, guitares aussi cultivées que rigoureuses, melodies dignes et pourtant volubiles, etincelles electroniques et volonté cardiaque (..) wendycode s'installe dans une dimension rarement atteinte" - Les Inrocks magazine
Molloy
www.myspace.com/thisisfuckingbrilliant
12th December at 12 minutes past midnight five musicians, oblivious to each others presence, were sat waiting for their take-out pizza. "Alan", shouted the member of serving staff as the five arose. Could these five individuals all be called Alan? Can you die of cancer at a car boot sale? The answer, of course, is yes!
Astounded by this coincidence, Alan, Alan, Alan, Alan and Alan formed an eternal bond, which can only be broken by ham. It wasn’t long before they had formed a band, too, and chosen a moniker in fitting with their green & orange attire - Molloy was thus born.
Of course, the quirky five soon found out that being in a band and sharing the same name wasn’t all going to be sunshine & roses. So, over a game of Scrabble, new high-scoring, yet succinct, identities were formed accordingly…Jez (19 points) guitar & vocals, Caz (14 points) vocals & guitars, Chaz (18 points) bass, Jacqz (32 points) synth & vocals, Toz (12 points) drums. "Alan now, just seems like some wild, crazy dream", purports Jez. "Alan? Alan who?", Chaz asks. "I won, I won!", declares Jacqz as Toz raises an eyebrow acknowledging a silent victory.
With their new names memorised, Molloy can now focus completely on their aim - to spurt forth music which will leave a sweet, yet salty, taste in your eye. And a bit in your hair.
Anton Barbeau
www.myspace.com/antonbarbeau
Anton Barbeau represents the Sacramento chapter of that nameless coterie of enduringly reliable, acid-tinged singer-songwriters that includes XTC's Andy Partridge, Robyn Hitchcock, Julian Cope and the Bevis Frond's Nick Saloman. His new album bathes beautifully constructed, thoughtfully arranged songs in a fading psychedelic sunshine, and it would be many casual consumers' album of the year if only they got to hear it. Four stars. -Sunday Times

dear landlord is yours. he'll never grow old.
dear landlord likes humphrey bogart films and the musical stylings of felt.
dear landlord didn't know you liked pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain. For this he is truly sorry.
