The "wayward genius" brings his fine band to the wonderful Chapel for our big birthday celebration concert.

Well, it would be him, wouldn't it? Choosing a headliner for the big occasion was a no-brainer, really. Of all the great artists who have played the Klub over the years no-one typifies the spirit of the Kalamazoo quite like the truly original Mr S.

Wayward genius? That's the way Radio 6 Music's Tom Robinson describes him. And who would say that Tom hasn't got it spot on?

Certainly not the 100 people who were shoehorned into the Great Northern Railway Tavern in January for another roof-raising Kalamazoo performance - the way he always starts his gig-packed year. And certainly not the thousands around the UK and Europe who have followed him for 35 years and regard him as one of the great unsung guitar players and singer-songwriters.

Folk, blues, pop, rockabilly and ragtime are all thrown into the mix of his amazing 40-album repertoire of songs. And there are another five albums running around in his head!

Come on down to the beautiful surroundings and wonderful acoustic of the Union Chapel and watch Durham's finest at work. You'll never forget him!
