Omer Klein is the newest force in the Israeli - New York City Jazz movement. The Village Voice praises his originality: "He's arrived without echoing any of the masters - an accomplishment these days". All About Jazz notes his "tumultuous lyricism" and Jazz Times describes his compositions as "folk songs for the melting pot of the new millennium, with strong Middle Eastern and African elements". Situated somewhere between E.S.T. and the veteran Algerian pianist Maurice El Medioni, Omer Klein’s music sits perfectly on the unbroken line between Jazz and World Music currently being explored by such stars as Roberto Fonseca and Gilad Atzmon, who will join Omer as a guest for this performance.
