Formed by drummer Alex Neilson (Baby Dee, Tight Meat, Bonnie Prince Billy, Josephine Foster and more),Trembling Bells are an acclaimed Glasgow based indie folk rock band that reference late 1960s psychedelia and British folk revival acts such as Fairport Convention and the Incredible String Band.
Like a faintly unhinged take on Fairport or Fotheringay with Lavinia Blackwall's soaring uplifting Sandy Denny style vocals that occasionally give way to deranged passages of feedback and clattering percussion.
Last December's show (The Circle is Unbroken with Mike Heron) may well have been my favourite show ever staged here at the Kitchen Garden), it's certainly in the top 5, and we can't wait to have them back again.
Support comes from Katherine Priddy, a dream weaver, hypnotic storyteller and fragile performer who encapsulates the rich and often solemn side of artists gone by such as Nick Drake and John Martyn, delivering each word with a genuine warmth and charm. www.facebook.com/katherinepriddy
