The Dirtbombs
The Dirtbombs crash back into the UK and blow up at the ULU in London on Thursday 5th June to celebrate the release of their brilliant new record-”We Have You Surrounded”. This will be the first Dirtbombs show in the UK for a couple of years and “We Have You Surrounded “ is the first full-length album of new material since 2003's pivotal Dangerous Magical Noise.
The Dirtbombs are the brain child of Mick Collins, godfather of the Detroit garage punk movement. After writing the template of modern US garage with The Gories (who were a major formative influence on The White Stripes among many others) Mick wanted to form a band that reflected not only punk but the black music scene too, specifically soul. Whereas The Gories were a bassless band, The Dirtbombs not only have TWO bass players but also TWO drummers! The Dirtbombs 2001 release, “Ultraglide in Black” personified the celebration of black music which was largely made up of soul, R & B and Motown covers.
Since the band's inception in 1992, The Dirtbombs have enthralled audiences world wide. In more recent years, they've been named Spin magazine's number ten best live band in the world and had their cover of "Chains of Love" was hand-picked by artist/director Julian Schnabel to be featured prominently in his critically-acclaimed film The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.
The Dirtbombs are an absolutely unmissable live event.

Kelley Stoltz
Kelley Stoltz was born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit and now resides in San Francisco as a home recording auteur. Kelley’s music goes from lo-fidelity psych fuzz garage through mid-fi piano rock (or as Kelley describes it “mental patient piano style”!) to the current stereophonic advance of his latest record Circular Sounds released by Sub Pop to rave reviews earlier this year.
