Dave Haslam ‘Life After Dark’ book event, including a discussion about significant and inspiring nightclubs and music venues with a panel including DJ Andrew Weatherall, club promoter Patrick Lilley, and more!
Nightclubs and music venues change change lives, define a town, and breed scenes and bands that change music history. Dave Haslam’s new book, ‘Life After Dark: A History of British Nightclubs & Music Venues’, takes us from vice-ridden Victorian music halls to acid house and beyond; from Mecca dance halls to mods in basement dives; from psychedelic light shows to high street discos; from the 100 Club to the Hacienda; from the Krays to the Slits; and from reggae sound systems to rave nights in Stoke.
Copies of ‘Life After Dark: A History of British Nightclubs & Music Venues’ will be on sale on the night.
Doors open 7pm, reading and discussion event starts 7.30pm
