NY's electronic duo Matt Stroud and Evan Mast are the urban outfitters of recorded sound: everything chewed up, fed through a ringer, and coming out all avant and edgy at the other end as multiple styles are mashed together in a thick instrumental soup with equal dashes of analogue touch and digital chaos. Clever, clattering floor-fillers with nods to rock and techno, slide guitar to sleigh bells, and harsh metal riffs to club dance beats all spill out with cinematic beauty and Muzak primness. No wonder the likes of Daft Punk, Mouse On Mars and Franz Ferdinand regularly request their touring presence. Highly recommended!
