The Echo and the Always is a 5-piece Cardiff-based band. Formed in 2012, the band's sound reflects their broad range of influences and is both dark and sombre, and bright and poppy.

Drawing on elements from their own eclectic musical backgrounds including folk, classical, rock and indie ECHO & THE ALWAYS play simple shoe-gazey indie-pop symphonies with layers upon layers of complimenting guitar, bass, synth, trumpet and vocal melodies that dance together and play off one another with melodic elegance. The band's influences include The Cure, Daughter, Brand New,Gaslight Anthem and The Joy Formidable. Since forming they've been active in the Welsh music scene and have played multiple times at Focus Wales and Gwyl Pil Pala Festival, as well as at Swn Festival in 2013 and Green Man in 2014. Their first single, 'For the Ground', was described as "lyrical and convincingly epic...something you can invest your heart in" by BBC Radio Wales's Adam Walton who also described their latest single 'Go Easy' as 'one of the singles of the year'. They have recently joined forces with local Cardiff label Jealous Lovers Club who will help support the release of their debut
album '..And After That The Dark' this year.

TOM ELLIOT : A songwriter with a distinctive, emotive voice and a knack for addictive melodies, Tom makes music that sounds a bit like that feeling you get when you're looking out of a car window, with the world rolling by in a hazy but familiar blur.

Tom's love for music is infectious. Often listening to the likes of Ben Howard, Bear's Den and the Maccabees, it's perhaps no surprise that his music often swings from campfire folk to a more electric, driven sound.
