Myth in Life: When the Dragon Wins, Storytelling workshop with Francesco Dimitri

Join us for this storytelling workshop for adults alongside the exhibition 'Out of the Fire'. This will be led by author Francesco Dimitri in response to the show. Through discussion and practical exercises, participants will explore myths with 'happy' or 'unhappy' endings, the transformative power of stories and how this can improve our lives.

Francesco Dimitri is an Italian author living in London. His works have sold translation rights to Spain, France, Holland, Japan and Russia; his book 'The Girl of My Dreams' is being made into a major film.

Out of the Fire Exhibition

As part of East London International Photography Festival 2015, and coinciding with Ladybird Books centenary, Oxford House presents Sara Hannant's 'Out of the Fire'. This beautiful and intriguing photographic installation re-enchants the power of fairy tales, as female characters from vintage Ladybird books are transformed through fire. The work reconsiders these iconic children's books, opening up the narratives to reflect personal and cultural mythologies that bear relationship to dreams, desires and memory.
