Can we ever really know the person we think we love? Unknowing plots the turbulent, intense and violent relationship between two lovers. Using the music of Schumann’s Dichterliebe and Frauenliebe und -leben, the piece is a poetic meditation on love’s creative -and destructive- power.
Translated by celebrated conductor David Parry, directed by Matthew Monaghan, and with musical direction from Richard Harker, Unknowing promises to be a deeply intense and revelatory musico-dramatic experience.
