Bright Phoebus Seasonal Special - Galleon Blast!

It's nearly that seasonally festive time of year that has come to mean we bring a certain BBC DJ, back to The Greystones, to entertain us in his inimitable style and this time it's with piratical combo, Galleon Blast!
Press ganged into service by an unscrupulous gangmaster from the Spanish Main (well....Knutsford actually), the swarthy seadogs of Galleon Blast occasionally get shore leave to ply their raggle-taggle trade wherever folk will have them. With a selection of rum-soaked songs and shanties, the Blasters whip up a squally strumming storm to get all and sundry friggin' in the riggin'. With traditional tunes and many a seafaring classic together with original material from their new album BAND ON THE RUM you can be sure that these diddly diddly deck-hands will get feet tapping from the poop to the crow's nest. Galleon Blast feature banjos, whistles, accordions and fiddles from members of The Family Mahone, Full House and Mark Radcliffe and Foes, including the pirate dj himself Mr.Radcliffe - the Jack Sparrow of the Radio 2 Folk Show. Actually, make that the Jack Duckworth of the Radio 2 Folk Show. So, it's all aboard the good ship Blast for a full-on broadside of buccaneering beat.

Galleon Blast are Mark Radcliffe, drums; Chris Lee, Banjo; Fluff, Fiddle; Nick Mitchell, Guitar; Mark Woolley, whistles; Paul Cargill, bass and Russ Mabbutt accordion. We all sing-- sometimes together and in harmony!

We're totally looking forward to it and whatever act he's brought to us in the past has always gone down a storm so get your tickets soon.
To avoid sea-sickness and encourage some jigging about, this will be a standing gig with room for a few to be seated on the benches down the side. If you want to come but need a seat then you can email us on info@brightphoebus.com and if there is a huge demand for seats, we can try and add a few more or find you a seat in the rigging!
MC for the evening and in charge of making people walk the plank if necessary will be our very own maestro, Martin Simpson!
