****** Paradise 9 (pictured) ******

A welcome return Paradise 9 are a 4 piece psychedelic proto-punk rock band based in London and Brighton. Their music brings a chilled and yet punchy approach taking inspiration from bands like Pink Floyd, Gong, Hawkwind, while fusing proto and post punk antics from bands like the Ramones, the Clash, Wire through to the Psychedelic Furs and described by Brighton reviewer Abi Rhodes as “"Hawkwind meets Joe Strummer".

They are RMC’s own Gregg McKella on vocals, guitar, glissando guitar, clarinet and space FX's, Neil Matthars on bass, Tyrone Thomas (ex-Alternative TV) on lead guitar and backing vocals and Wayne Collyer on drums.

They have been gigging and playing festivals extensively throughout the UK, including Glastonbury, Green Gathering, Kozfest, Cosmic Puffin, Alchemy and Bearded Theory festivals to name a few.

To date they have brought out 3 acclaimed CD albums, “Showtime”, “Take Me To The Future” (that featured much loved and missed Judge Trev), a DVD “Live at the Onboard The Craft Festival 2013” and their latest release and “Live At The Amersham Arms 2014” CD.

****** Sumerian Kyngs ******

The Kyngs of driving psychedelic jazz-groove are back with us!

Founded in Brighton in 2004 by Ross Clifford, Simon Myers, Phil Boucherat, Steve Cartwright and The Damned's Monty Oxymoron, the Sumerian Kyngs made their weird and wonderful debut at the Marlborough Theatre, Brighton, for The Real Music Club the same year.

The band have experimented with many different line-ups and they currently comprise (deep breath): Tony Green (The Unbelievables) on vocals, dancing and removal of clothing, the extravagantly-moustached Steve Cartwright (The Red Snappers, Shakespeare Heptet) on sax, Stuart McKay on harmonica, Trevor Nobes (TNT and others) on guitar, the thundering Andy Baynton-Power (The Red Snappers, That Legendary Wooden Lion and others) on bass, Monty Oxymoron (Damned) on keyboards, Graham Durrant (14 Iced Bears) on drums and our very own Cliff Dowding on synth and space-noise. They are currently working on their next album, which is due for release in 2016.

****** Johnny Hewes ******

We also extend a warm welcome back to Johnny Hewes Music, who is best known for performing his own brand of country-folk in and around Brighton and Hove.

Johnny delivers a fine set of numbers which have an uptempo, politico-folk flavour. Johnny’s beautifully-crafted songs will have you tapping your feet and singing along to his melodic and rousing choruses.
