ARROWS OF LOVE
Wild Boar
Beans on Toast
The Eraserheads
Formed in London in August 2008, Arrows of Love – who have been inspired by William Blake's 'Jerusalem: The Emanation of the Great Albion' in the naming of their band – consist of:
Nima (Hush the Many) on vocals, Luis (Eraserheads, Jamie T) on guitar, Clayton (Kid Harpoon) on bass, Wim (Loverman, Eraserheads) on drums, Sarah on keys, guitar & vocals, and Kate on cello.
The sound is truly dynamic; frenzied guitar attacks, reminiscent of vintage Sonic Youth, meet intricate craftwork that touches upon recent Radiohead; while raw thick guitar sounds, associated with American bands like The Pixies and the Wipers, are punctuated by distinctly English vocals. Combined with the fluid instrumentation of cello, piano, synths and harmonies, Arrows of Love have developed their intricate sound rapidly since first officially joining together at the Secret Garden Party Festival in late July 2008, a performance which saw most of the band playing together for the first time. Arrows of Love are currently working on material under the guidance of producer and friend Aaron Horn at Trevor Horn's legendary SARM studios.
The London Scala show on 14 October will see Arrows of Love joined by a varied host of friends, with live shows from Ed Harcourt's Wild Boar as main support, Beans on Toast, and The Eraserheads. Goldierocks Soundsystem will host the aftershow with DJ sets from Goldierocks, Honeyweazel, and End of the Road Festival's Simon Taffe.
Details of the aftershow will be kept secret until the Arrows of Love performance, and entry will be reserved only for Scala ticketholders.
