A warm film that tells the true story of a group of gay activists
who came together to support the striking miners in Thatcher’s
Britain of the 1980’s. The BAFTA-winning film immortalises the
campaign by Lesbians and Gays Support The Miners, who raised
over £22,000 for the impoverished Welsh mining community of
Dulais. But the London-based LGBT activists and the Miner’s
Union were not an easy mix.
A multi-award-winning film, was also nominated for a Golden
Globe and was winner of Best British Independent Film, Best
Supporting Actress for Imelda Staunton and Best Supporting
Actor for Andrew Scott at the 2014 British Independent Film
Awards.
