Lowri Evans, hails from Newport. With a degree in jazz and pop, she has released albums in English and her native Welsh and appeared at Cambridge Folk Festival, Village Pump Folk and Celtic Connections, and had support slots with Cara Dillon, Martin Simpson, John Renbourn, Jim Moray, Jez Lowe and Richie Havens.

When Lowri played TwickFolk in October 2014, she'd recently released her latest Welsh language EP Gadael y gorffennol (Leaving the past). This February she released an English language album: Everyone is from Somewhere Else.
Lowri's previous album - Corner of my Eye featured accordion player Andy Cutting and renowned acoustic and slide guitarist Martin Simpson, both BBC Radio 2 Folk Award Winners. The album has received fantastic reviews with a 5* review from Rock 'n' Reel (R2) quoting - "Lowri Evans has surely cut one of the albums of this or any other year. It's simply a dream"
