At The Helm Records would like to invite you to help celebrate the release of the new album 'Run It Right Into The Wall' from Seattle's Massy Ferguson.

While the guys are in the UK we thought it was an excellent chance to showcase four acts on At The Helm Records, the UK home of 'unscrubbed-americana'

With thick layers of electric guitars complimented by a thunderous drum sound and frontman Ethan Anderson's signature heartland growl, the new full length album channels various touchstones such as REM’s “Document“, The Replacements at their mid-eighties peak and even Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak". The new record 'Run It Right Into The Wall' is Seattle to the core, produced by legendary local producer Johnny Sangster (Mudhoney, The Posies, Gerald Collier, et al) and recorded at Jack Endino's (of Nirvana "Bleach" fame) acclaimed Soundhouse Studios and released on our sister Company At The helm Records in July .

Despite their city's reputation for dark, hard "grungy" music, these are more than convincing roots rockers that sound like they belong on outlaw country radio and simultaneously some awesome left of the dial AM college station in 1987.

Daniel Meade

Having struck a deal with label At The Helm Records to release new album 'Let Me Off At The Bottom' (May 27th 2016) things continue to move in the right direction. With a proactive publisher and ever growing fan base, 2016 promises to be a great year, with slots already booked at 'Kilkenny Rhythm and Roots Festival,' 'Maverick Festival', 'Eden Festival' and 'Americana Festival 2016' amongst others, and a solo UK tour in April, once again in support of Diana Jones. ‘The result is an untrammelled success, with Meade delivering 13 songs that draw deep from the well of traditional American acoustic roots music, with honky-tonk, sad waltzes, string band stomps, and rockabilly all featured. -NO DEPRESSION

Society

Society are a country rock band from West Sussex,UK who specialise in gorgeous three part harmonies that set them apart from the current crop of Americana or West Coast rock wanabees in the UK. Society comprise of guitarist Matt Wise, bassist Ben Lancaster and on
all things percussive F.Scott Kenny. Their recorded and live sound has echoes of C.S.N.Y,The Band, The Heartbreakers, Burritos, Rolling Stones, Wilco, The Jayhawks and the late great Ronnie Lane and Slim Chance. Matt Wise composes most if not all of their material and the band sing harmony the result is stunning

StevieRay Latham

StevieRay Latham returns with a new single Late Night Conversations, he first track to be lifted from his sophomore album, Winter in London
On this new track Latham continues to evolve the lyrical prowess and storytelling that was evident on debut Modern Attitudes.
Sonically, these recordings (Peter Bruntnell produces again) whilst maintaining the rough edges, provide a much grander palette on which StevieRay Latham can work.
