An evening of quirky history, laughter, and musical nostalgia. Internationally renowned singer Miss Patricia Hammond follows the threads of patriotism, pacifism, and propaganda that run through popular songs of the period, while humourist Mr Tom Cutler tells the incredible stories of the songs, the personal tales of the men who wrote them, and the forgotten histories of those who sang them. Piano accompaniment is provided by Mr Tom Carradine, a pianist and musical director specialising in the popular songs of the first half of the 20th century.

This is an entertaining evening, with the chance for a little interwar audience participation: foot-tapping sing-alongs, join-in parlour tricks, and contemporaneous amusements. Unrationed beer and wine available.
