CHARANGA DEL NORTE

Charanga del Norte will be performing as a 9-piece band playing Charanga típica styles of Cuban dance music such as Mambo, Chachachá, Danzón and Pachanga as well as Son and Son Montuno dance styles. The inspiration for the band came from Orquesta Aragón and Israel 'Cachao' Lopez and the story of the band can be found on the history page and also in the preface to the book Cuban Flute Style: Interpretation and Improvisation of their website:

VESPERADOS

Vesperados is a collective of creative jazz musicians interested in fusing big melodies with world rhythms and textures, intricate arrangements and expressive improvisation. Influenced by the likes of Nana Vasconcelas, Tito Puente, Ibrahim Maalouf and the Buena Vista Social Club, Vesperados mix warm, evocative ballads with fiery, percussive beats, salsa rhythms and jazz harmonies to create a uniquely memorable experience.
