The Dancing Bear presents The Rheingans Sisters!
Workshop | Concert
The Rheingans Sisters' second album Already Home was one of the most talked about folk albums of last year, with rave reviews across the national and folk and world music press. The Independent called it 'superb' while fRoots hailed it 'quite simply extraordinary' and Songlines awarded a 'magnificent album' an unusual 5 stars and the coveted 'top of the world' title. The phenomenal response to The Rheingans Sisters' latest album rightly earned them no less than two nominations at the most prestigious event in the folk music industry's calendar, the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, which took place at the Royal Albert Hall in April 2016. As well as their nomination in the 'Horizon' category for Best Newcomer, their song 'Mackerel', from the album Already Home, won the very prestigious award for Best Original Track, rarely awarded to artists so early in their career.
Anna and Rowan Rheingans will be celebrating the resounding success of Already Home and their ever growing reputation as two of the most inventive musicians on the folk scene with a busy summer of performances at some of England's best loved festivals and then a week of gigs in October. They're both incredibly busy musicians, both involved in various projects and bands, so catch them while you can!
