Herne Hill Music Festival: Young Musical Talent in our community

Presented by: Herne Hill Music Festival
0LONDON: St Saviour's Hall
PSaturday 8th October, 2016
N3:00pm

Event information

Auricle: a band of 15 year olds from South-East London who have been playing together for a long time. The line-up consists of Lola Lindsay-Price - vocals, Luke Sinclair - piano , Maisie Bourke - vocals and piano and Alfie Cross - drums. They enjoy playing music from a range of genres but mainly write in a pop style. They are still in school so opportunities to grow as musicians are limited as they work towards their GCSEs. Finding time to practise and rehearse is hard, but luckily they are all studying music so sometimes they use lesson time to practise.

The Charter School Orchestra: Charter School has a strong music tradition, with a choir and an orchestra. The orchestra performed 'Guys and Dolls' in the Spring last year, and played in The Peasant's Opera in last year's Festival.

Young solists: we have string and keyboard soloists lined up to entertain you, including:

- Adriana Forbes Dorant - violin, a Mayor of London Music Scholar, will play pieces by Schubert, Weill, and Vivaldi

- Nathan Mukasa - viola, will perform Tambourin by Gossec and Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen by Mozart

- we also expect to have piano soloists and a guitar soloist
