The stars have confabulated for the Poetry Brothel Night to coincide with the Guy Fawkes celebrations on the 5th of November. We shall follow the lead of the stars and dedicate our night to the theme of dissent, rebellion, resistance and fire.
Fire is sexy. The night and secrecy is sexy.
Irreverence is sexy. The urban partisans are sexy.
Dissent is sexy.

With open and private performances by some of the most exciting and fiery poets in the London poetry underground scene.
Plus special guest poet: TIM WELLS, the embodiment of anti-establishment poetical resistance, urban legend and fabulous poet.
Tarot readings and burlesque.

The Poetry Brothel is a unique and immersive poetry event that takes poetry away from classrooms, lecture halls and Ivory towers and places it in the lush, radiant and fiery interiors of a bordello. Based on the concept of the fin-de-siecle bordellos in New Orleans and Paris, many of which functioned as safe havens for fledgling, avant-garde artists, The Poetry Brothel presents a rotating cast of "poetry whores" each operating within a carefully constructed character. For a small fee, you can purchase a piece of the "whore's" poetical spirit and absorb yourself in the true nature of one-on-one poetry readings in back rooms and other secret and intimate spaces.
