Event information

Theme Park are three friends from London. Twin brothers Marcus and Miles who met in the womb and Oscar who entered their lives soon after at primary school. Chats during weekend tennis squads confirmed their growing love of music, and when miles and Marcus decided to form a band having finished university, it seemed only natural that Oscar would become the third member.

Their latest single, LA (Stealing My Friends), is the follow up to You Are Real, which was released earlier this year and gained support from the likes of Radio 1, 6Music, Noisey, Clash, DIY amongst others.

Taken from their sophomore album, LA (Stealing My Friends) is a pop classic in the waiting about friends succumbing to the draw of cool La La Land with its surf, sea and Hollywood elite. The single was recorded as part of sessions produced both by Fryars and the band themselves in their own home studio.

‘If you like Metronomy when Joe Mount was rocking a falsetto all day every day, and you dig Hot Chip’s seminal 2006 video for Over and Over, then you will certainly enjoy the plinkety cool grooves of this London trio’ – Noisey

‘Laced with melody, infused with ambition, it’s a witty, sparkling return from the group with huge promise’ – CLASH

Special guests are Cristobal and The Sea. The London-based union of Alejandro ‘Ale’ Romero (bass, vocals, Spain), João Seixas (guitar, vocals, Portgual), Leïla Seguin (flute, vocals, Corsica/France) and Joshua Oldershaw (drums, UK) harnesses an altogether fluid, rhythmic and exquisitely melodic energy as colourful and evocative as their band name, forged from different strands of DNA, primarily bossa nova, Afro-pop and Western folk and rock, but even here it’s varied, as much Animal Collective as it is Arthur Lee’s Love.

This European concoction was first tasted on Cristobal and The Sea’s five-track EP debut Peach Bells in December 2014, and now it’s their equally stunning debut album Sugar Now, out now via City Slang.
