Manchester’s ferocious folk foursome, 4Square, are bringing their fiery, inventive and virtuosic brand of alternative folk to The Harrison on Wednesday 8th March. Described as “simply stunning” by the legendary John Tams, their trademark live show features the spectacle of Nicola Lyons’s simultaneous fiddle playing and clog dancing and virtuosic mandolin from Michael Giverin, galvanised by the driving sounds of Jim Molyneux’s piano and Dan Day’s percussion. The result is an infusion of folk, jazz, Latin, and any other musical style they feel the inclination to absorb.
The band is currently on a large tour spanning the length of the UK in support of their fourth studio album, “Fuel” (released last year) and to showcase their brand new EP, which celebrates 10 years as a touring band.
4Square have been growing their reputation on the UK and international folk scene by wowing audiences with their musicianship for several years and March 8th at The Harrison will be no exception! Check them out on YouTube or via their website at www.4squaremusic.co.uk for videos and sample tracks and come on down to The Harrison to experience a 4Square concert for yourself.
