‘MY GENERATION’ features a wonderful line up of mini double bills and women musicians who grew up listening to music on vinyl and transistor radio… and decided that they also wanted to PLAY!
Inspired by artists such as Joni Mitchell and Suzi Quatro, and with many self taught, they became the first wave of British women jazz musicians in the 1970s and 1980s.
Tonight, an evening of funk, reggae and ska flavoured jazz with the fabulous trombone of Annie Whitehead and drummer extraordinaire Winston Clifford.
With Blow the Fuse hosts Deirdre Cartwright on guitar and Alison Rayner on double bass.
Annie Whitehead is a Trombone virtuoso best known for her engaging mix of African grooves, blues, ska and Ellingtonian expressionism.
One of the UK's brightest and most versatile trombone players, Annie Whitehead has played on over 50 albums.
