In April we have the fabulous Andrew Bird headlining. We think he's great, as do audiences at the Hammersmith Apollo, as do Rhod Gilbert & Lee Hurst, both of whom Andrew supported on their tours. Some other industry folk think he's special too.
“Superb… the exciting rising star” - Time Out
“A natural comedian” - The Stage
“Effortlessly engaging and funny as hell” - Rhod Gilbert
“Beautifully observed and insightful…not only an entertaining story but a very funny hour of fine stand-up.” - Chortle
“There’s an undercurrent of wisdom, hope and self-acceptance which delivers more soul than most shows you’ll see this year, but never undermines the comedy. Although his material is always funny and frequently hilarious, it’s his personal charm that makes this special.” – Fest
Opening the evening will be Steff Todd. Steff Todd is a comedian who over a short space of time has already made her mark, with a unique mix of sharp one-liners and celebrity impressions. Steff entered the Funny Women awards 2016. She won the "One to Watch" in the stage award and also winner of the "Queen of the Meme" for her online Twitter jokes, which can be found here www.twitter.com/stefftodd
"Upcoming new talent - expect to see her go far over the next year, one to watch" - Funny Women awards.
"Clever, sharp celebrity impressions mixed with witty and inventive one-liners" - Stagefright Comedy
Tom Young has done seven fairly successful solo shows, is the director of one of the the midlands' leading improvised comedy groups - The Same Faces - and recently had a crack at directing Hamlet. Long story short: he's pretty damn funny, and likes to keep busy.
"A bevy of smiles, and a goodly helping of original material." Arts in Leicestershire
"Very clever writing; a great comic." Isy Suttie
"Lively, and very funny." Alan Seaman, Ship of Fools Comedy Club
The Reverend Henry King is one of JAM Comedy’s own. Having done several hundred gigs up and down the country, this is one preacher who knows a thing or two about The Ark and other biblical references. It’s religion but not as you know it.
