Loreley are very happy to be able to announce their first hometown show since relocating to Sheffield in September 2016. In the intimate setting of the upstairs attic room at The Red Deer, prepare to be dazzled by innovative and original arrangements of traditional songs, featuring material from Loreley's critically-acclaimed new album, "The Frozen North", as well as a selection of favourites from their previous two releases.

Loreley will be joined by very special guests, Toki Trio, featuring Nicola Beazley (fiddle), Owain Lewis (accordion), and Tim Knowles (guitar).

Please note that this is a small venue and space is limited: book now to avoid disappointment! Seating will be cabaret style with standing space at the back, please get in touch via the email below if you require a seat to be reserved for you.


Since their inception, the award-winning duo of Maddy Glenn (vocals, percussion, whistles) and Simon James Chisholm (mandolin, guitar, dulcitar, concertina) have begun to make waves on the folk scene. with the release of their debut EP "Two Blind Mice" in 2015, Loreley created a successful blend of pairing traditional folk lyrics to progressively composed original music. With the aim of breathing new life into forgotten folk songs, Loreley have created an exciting and dramatic live performance that changes and evolves with every show to continue drawing in an engaged audience.

The pair have performed actively across England, Europe, and New Zealand; from Oxford Folk Weekend, to The Goose is Out Folk Club, to BBC Radio; on lineups with the likes of Philip Henry & Hannah Martin, The Furrow Collective, and Martin Carthy. In 2016, Loreley toured with critically-acclaimed songwriter Reg Meuross, before beginning work on a new album "The Frozen North", launched at Camden's "The Green Note" on 27th March 2017, that is certain to cement them as one of the best upcoming acts on the folk scene.

Toki Trio bring a new twist to traditional and contemporary folk tunes. Fiddle, accordion and guitar combine to deliver a dynamic, energetic performance, drawing on a repertoire of Scottish, English and European music.

The Toki Trio style draws on elements of trad English and Scottish playing, jazz-style guitar and layered arrangements to form a rich and engaging sound.


We will also be hosting a song and tune session in the pub afterwards. Feel free to bring instruments!
