Following their recent triumphant hometown anniversary show last month, PictureHouse have announced an intimate acoustic showcase in London’s The Islington on November 21st.

One of Ireland’s most popular bands, the 1990’s saw them play countless tours with the likes of Meatloaf, The Corrs, Runrig, Bon jovi, Texas and release the gold albums Shine Box and Karmarama.

Their hit “Sunburst” became a soundtrack to lost summers in the 1990s, was the most played song on Irish radio, used in a major TV advertising campaign and even got used in a film.

More recently the band have been recording again, a track from their Evolution album called Rules of Science made it on the BBC Radio 2 playlist, coincidently, that track was written with Lasse Anderson, son of ABBA’s Stig Anderson

Amid the fanfare of reaching their 21st anniversary which included a letter of tribute from the Irish President Michael D Higgins, the band received video messages of support from a host of well known Irish faces including U2 frontman Bono. Massive accolades indeed. They’ve also issued a new compilation album featuring key singles, b-sides, and some never heard before material. Entitled “How Can I Explain How This Came To Be?” the album is available now on Vinyl and download.

A favourite in live sets, Somebody Somewhere is a song about keeping hope in even the most bleakest and darkest situations. The band first premiered this song in a prison in Dublin after being invited to play for selected inmates. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Somebody Somewhere is released as single on November 24th.
