Event information

London-based Australian pianist Piers Lane stands out as an engaging and highly versatile performer, at home equally in solo, chamber and concerto repertoire. In great demand as soloist and collaborative artist, recent highlights include a performance of Busoni’s mighty piano concerto at Carnegie Hall, premieres of Carl Vine’s second Piano Concerto, written for him, with the Sydney Symphony and the London Philharmonic, and several sold-out solo recitals at Wigmore Hall.

“No praise could be high enough for Piers Lane, whose playing throughout is of a superb musical intelligence, sensitivity, and scintillating brilliance” Bryce Morrison, Gramophone.

Please note: the doors open at 4.45pm but the concert actually starts at 5.30.

This programme replaces the one previously advertised, which has had to be cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control.

Our piano is a superb 2015 Steinway Model B Grand, chosen for us by Steinway’s Head of Concert & Artists’ Services, Ulrich Gerhartz, and maintained by Steinways who tune it immediately before each recital.

After the concert we offer a finger buffet tea with your choice of wine, tea, coffee, or juice. Piers Lane will attend the buffet and you can meet him. “!Tea” tickets are £7, or just £5 for students, and can be bought on the door with cash or a cheque, We can cater for up to 75.

NB. Student tickets at £8 each are not sold online and are only available from the Chopin Society. Email info@chopin-society.org.uk to reserve your ticket, which can be collected and paid for with cash – sorry no cards. Students should have ID.
