The Blood Tub Orchestra: Huzzah! Huzzah! Once more the the group described by BBC6 as 'a ride on Satans merry go round' return to the stately pleasure dome of the Dublin Castle to dig up the best of the Golden Age of the Music Hall, along with the worst of the Tin Can Age, grind it into an evil smelling paste and fling the whole lot at the assembled multitudes in an effort to take revenge on the 21st century on behalf of the 19th. Copies of the current genuine (honest guv) 1870s silicon chipped CD 'The Seven Curses of the Music Hall' will be on sale and anyone not buying it will be sent to the workhouse with nothing but gruel and that funny fizzy pale ale stuff.
The Tropics Trio- Former Stingrays and Terminal Cheesecake drummer and percussionist (and of course still very much a leading light in The Flaming Stars) JF Whitney goes back in bands with She Rocola a long way thru some superb outfits such as Minxus and the extended Tropics Of Cancer of the late 20th Century…now augmented exceedingly ably by former Billy Childish co-hort Wolf Howard, this here Tropics Trio promises to be a slinky jazzbo excercise in ace artistry.
The Lunar Effect- Psych rock stonerisms to the fore and all fantastically well performed, influenced by the likes of Soundgarden, Kyuss, The Velvet Underground,The Sword and Black Sabbath.
