Singer-songwriter Brian Briggs (former frontman of indie-folk band Stornoway) and award-winning Welsh poet Paul Henry perform tracks from their new album 'The Glass Aisle'. 'The Glass Aisle' is a mesmerising collaboration of songs and poetry set on the Monmouthshire-Brecon canal, which has toured UK festivals and played on Mark Radcliffe's BBC Radio 2's Folk Show. Paul’s lyrics transport the listener deep into the frozen landscape on the cusp of spring through the portal of Brian’s pure tenor, in this piece filled with presences including poacher-fisherman John Moonlight, Marconi - who conducted his experiments for radio on the canal - and an old union workhouse, now converted into houses. 'The Glass Aisle' is also the title of Paul Henry's new poetry collection, published by Seren.
Paul and Brian will be supported by Lomond Campbell. Originally hailing from the Scottish borders and a former long-time resident of Edinburgh, Campbell, eager to flee the clamour and turbulence of the city, upped sticks a couple of years ago, setting up home, and studio, in a leaking, decrepit, asbestos-ridden school house in the shadow of Ben Nevis. His debut record 'Black River Promise’ was recorded there deep in the Scottish Highlands and released on Heavenly Recordings in November 2017.
