On Friday 19th October 2018 Chelmsford City Racecourse plays host to an evening with one of English football’s most famous and much loved characters Paul Merson.

Paul Merson made 425 appearances for the Gunners in a career that spanned 12 years scoring 99 goals. Nicknamed ‘The Magic Man’, Paul went on to play for Middlesbrough, Aston Villa, Portsmouth and Walsall. Paul is now better known for his work on SKY TV as a presenter of the Fantasy Football show and a regular on Saturday afternoons as part of SKY Sports Soccer Saturday football coverage, where he brings his own style of punditry to the screen.

To host the event is top Stand-Up Comedian, Writer and TV Presenter Bob Mills. Bursting on to the London Comedy circuit in 1985, Bob turned the “alternative” establishment on its head with his unique and challenging brand of laddish, irreverent stand-up. Over the next ten years Mills established himself as one of the leading comedians in the UK, as well as putting together a string of acclaimed TV credits. On television, Bob is probably best known for his role as the host of ITV’s flagship daytime game show ‘Win Lose or Draw‘ and for his weird and wonderful late night ‘In Bed With Me Dinner‘.

Chelmsford City Racecourse will be open from 6.15pm with the main event starting at 8pm. There will be an auction and raffle with some great prizes up for grabs. There is also a chance to ask Paul and Bob questions and to purchase some fantastic memorabilia on the night.

Standard tickets are great value for money at just £20 and there is also an exclusive VIP package available for £49 which includes a front row seat, meeting Paul prior to the show, receiving a signed memento of the evening plus an opportunity to have a photograph taken with Merse. Please note that food and drink will be available to purchase on the night and that the VIP session commences at 6.45pm.
