Orange unsignedAct finalists the THE SCARLET HARLOTS have been tipped for greatness in the new year by The Wombats. What's in store for the listener is some indie-punk style tunes that reflect perhaps the next generation of indie in the UK. In what has been a stagnating scene, could a band like Scarlet Harlots come in and reinvigorate it?
ANISON SINGLE LAUNCH Anison are from Kingston and the name has an affiliation with Japanese anime music. The tracks have been picking up airplay on XFM and BBC6Music.
British eccentric indie rock band, HIPSLINKY have been developing their 'slightly off the beaten track' music for several years, scoring support slots with Feeder, Cooper Temple Clause, Vex Red, Athlete, Ocean Colour Scene, and with airplay on XFM, Scuzz TV, The Amp, Chart Show . Think Jeff Buckley vocals crossed with the Police, the Cure and the Beatles. Since signing with Genius Twin Recordings they have released the critically acclaimed debut album 'Headhunted' and the band are currently working towards their second album due out mid next year.
With comparisons in the press to Razorlight, Bloc Party, The Charlatans, The Police and The Clash; THE VIBRANTS consciously steer away from sounding like everyone else. The writing process involves every band member and with everyone's different tastes and backgrounds, each song is worked on and crafted until everyone is happy with it. Giles Farnham (Vocals) puts it this way: 'When we're writing the song, it's ours. When the audience hears it for the first time, it's theirs'.
