Presented by: Huguenots of Spitalfields
0LONDON: Christ Church Spitalfields
PSaturday 20th October, 2018

Event information

When the Huguenots arrived, Spitalfields was already established as an affordable location for artisan culture, permitting those with skills to produce high quality items for sale to wealthy customers in the City of London. The Gentle Author of Spitalfields Life traces the history of this cultural tradition and explores how it has shaped the identity of the place through the centuries.

Speaker Biography
For the past nine years, the Gentle Author has captivated us by publishing 3,000 daily stories at www.spitalfieldslife.com about the characters and cultures that make up the East End of London - as well as producing books which include East End Vernacular, A Hoxton Childhood, The Boss of Bethnal Green, East End, Cries of London, The London Album, and most recently Maps of London and Beyond by Adam Dant.
