ELEPHANT TALK is an instrumental jazz funk/fusion band based in Central London. Formed at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, the group draws on the compositions of guitarist and band leader James Maltby and artists including Janek Gwizdala and Kneebody. The band's sound reflects the eclectic influences of its members, ranging from straight ahead jazz to progressive rock and electronic music. Line-up: James Maltby - Guitar; Jack Banjo Courtney - Trumpet; Sam Knight - Tenor Saxophone;Joe Fenning - Trombone; David Swan - Keys; Ollie Copeland - Bass; Floyd St Barbe - Drums
Opening the evening entertainment, SAM KNIGHT QUINTET plays original compositions influenced by American Jazz musicians such as Wycliffe Gordon and Seamus Blake as well as British Jazz artists like Kenny Wheeler and Dave Holland.
