After a lengthy, self-imposed hiatus the legendary Outcast Band are back! These guys bring a live performance like no other. Their influences, from folk, rock and even punk are apparent, but they have created a distinctive sound which has earned them a reputation for giving an incredible live music experience.
Echoes of The Waterboys, New Model Army and The Levellers inform their music, but the band produce a sound all of their own, based in rock and complemented by violin, mandolin and accordion. With epic songs such as Hurricane Day and The Garden Song the band hold nothing back, giving the audience a performance packed full of raw emotion.
The lyrical narrative of the songs, both stark and compelling, tells stories of struggles with the extremes of emotion and, although characterised by a distinct lack of optimism, there are \"glimpses of stars from the gutter\" (R2 Magazine).
One of the festival circuit’s most interesting offerings, the band have enjoyed some notable achievements in the past including headline performances at Wychwood, Guilfest and the Acoustic Festival of Britain. Their last album, The Longest Mile, reached no. 2 in the Amazon pre-order chart and they have been regularly featured on BBC Radio 2 and regional radio shows.
