Buddy Wakefield
Wakefield, who is not concerned with what poetry is or is not, delivers raw, rounded, disarming performances of humor and heart.
The American, Three-time world champion spoken word artist featured on the BBC, HBO’s Def Poetry Jam, ABC Radio National, has released on Sage Francis' Strange Famous label and is currently signed to Ani DiFranco’s Righteous Babe Records. In 2004 he won the Individual World Poetry Slam Finals then went on to share the stage with nearly every notable performance poet in the world in over 1500 venues internationally from The Great Lawn of Central Park, Zimbabwe’s Shoko Festival and Scotland’s Oran Mor to San Quentin State Penitentiary, House of Blues New Orleans and The Basement in Sydney, Australia.

Spoken Word Poet and Creative Events Organiser of Teeside spoken word night Diverse. Her work aims to address 'the things we lower our voices to talk about'. Her poetry takes on issues such as mental health, sex, loneliness, politics, ingrained sexism and a woman’s right to chose.
M.C Drop Dead Fred
The versatile, enigmatic and thought provoking M.C who raps about everything from anime cartoons to private finance initiatives destroying the education system to his love of rave music. Fred is also front man and composer of the ska gypsy-esk festival feelgood band: Backyard Rhythm Orchestra and was 1 half of Verbal Terrorists the politically minded HipHop band. He has played at Glastonbury, Boomtown all over the UK festival scene. Fred will be performing special spoken word hiphop lecture looking cryptic rhyme schemes
